427 A.C. Cobra Replica - SOLD
Original 427 Cobras sell for $300,000 - $800,000 and no one would dare drive one on the street. Yet with its beautiful styling and race heritage it would still be wonderful to own and drive one. The concept behind this vehicle is to have the looks and sound of the original but the owner would be able to drive it anywhere. This replica looks like the original but at less than 10% the cost of an original. Built with modern mechanical technology for reliability and ease of parts availability. This little cutie has plenty of power with only 2100 pounds of weight to haul around. Wide rear tires and beefy suspension plant all that power to the pavement. It squats and goes!

Suspension
Front end: Popular Mustang II front end geometry means no bump steer. Tubular upper and lower control arms, powder coated. Carrera coil over chrome shocks, powder coated springs adjustable for ride height and stiffness.  5 lug rotors with disc brakes. Power steering rack and pinion. Sway bar. Corners like a go kart!
Rear end: Four link rear end. 8.8 ring and pinion with 3.73 ratio. 5 lug disc brakes with parking brake feature. 11" rotors with Olds Toronado calipers. Quad shock arrangement with vertical shocks being adjustable.
Fully adjustable rear brake proportional valve control.

Body
The body was molded from an original 427 AC Cobra by Classic Motor Carriages, Miami. It is a sturdy fiberglass body with a bright red gelcoat finish. The color is in the gelcoat, it  CAN be painted but the finish is as nice as any clearcoat, yet scratches can be polished out.
The frame is a two-inch by four-inch square steel frame with cross supports. The frame is epoxy painted black.

Wheels and Tires
P.S. Engineering wheels. These bolt-on wheels are beautiful replicas of the original Halibrand knock-off wheels. B.F. Goodrich radial T/A P215-60/R15 on front, P265-50/R15 on rear give the proper stance and aggressive width to the rear end.

Interior and Gauges
Carrera Cobra wood steering wheel with center horn button.  Twin air horns with European sound are very loud. Seven VDO gauges include a 160 MPH speedometer, seven grand tachometer, oil pressure, voltage, water temperature, fuel, clock. Five point racing seat belts for both seats by Racer Component Inc. Turn and high beam indicators.
Fuel pump shut-off switch.

Creature comforts
Tilt steering wheel, Power Brakes, Power Steering. JVC 40 Watt AM/FM cassette with 88W Jensen amplifier, interior lighting, cigarette lighter, map pockets on both doors, electric trunk release, windshield wipers and washers, wind wings. Map pockets in both doors. Package shelf behind seats, carpeted trunk.

Power train
The reliability comes from late model mustang technology. The V-8 engine is a 5.0, it has a 5-Speed OD transmission and the 8.8 rear end runs a 3.73 gear. The roller camshaft is a Ford Motorsports E-303. It has a Holley 650 cfm carb with vacuum secondaries on top of an Edelbrock RPM intake manifold. Ford Motorsports High Energy Ignition system with adjustable rev limiter. Holley electric fuel pump. The headers were custom made and mated to correct "4 into 1" side pipes, all Jet Hot ceramic coated inside and out. There is no smog equipment on this engine. Electric cooling fan, fully adjustable thermostatic controls with manual override.
